The thyroid runs the body and is sometimes referred to as the third ovary.
I wrote back to Paula saying, “A urine-loading test may show how much iodine is in the system, but it won’t show how the bio-electric energy of that iodine is impacting the bio-electric energy of the thyroid gland. The way a product is manufactured can change the energy signature of the iodine. It's all a matter of the physics of a substance, and not just its presence. For that reason, I consider the urine-loading test an inadequate tool. The product you mentioned is one of the many iodine-supplying products on the market that does not test as strengthening the bio-electric output of a weak thyroid gland. I have no vested interest in promoting one product over another. My passion is simply to identify what actually works. I've collected many different iodinedelivering products over the years, testing them on thousands of clients in my office. Thyrostim is among those that test well.”
5. What If I Had My Thyroid Removed?
If you’ve had your thyroid removed, talk to your doctor about thyroid hormone replacement. Armour Thyroid comes closest to supplying your body with the thyroid hormones no longer being produced. Your body still requires iodine, so continue to take the supplements for thyroid function, plus address all that I’ve written about in these pages.
Next Steps
If blood testing for thyroid function can be as misleading as this chapter indicates, what is your plan for finding out how your thyroid is actually doing?
Whom have you identified in your area who might prove helpful?
